Sean Bean is one of the top-rated and most popular stars of both cinema and television. Bestselling celebrity biographer Laura Jackson traces his life from his working-class beginnings in Sheffield to becoming one of Hollywood’s favourite screen villains, earning him the handle of ‘The Sexiest Man in Cinema’. Written with the full knowledge and consent of Sean Bean Laura Jackson has carried out exclusive interviews with Sean Bean’s close friends and family, including Bernard Cornwell and Pierce Brosnan. She turns the spotlight on this remarkably grounded actor and explores his chauvinistic Northern roots, his passion for football and his turbulent love life. Laura examines the unique balancing act he performs between the large and small screen. From the springboard of the phenomenally successful TV series Sharpe, he has starred in TV’s Lady Chatterley, Bravo Two Zero, and Extremely Dangerous among others, and the movies GoldenEye, Patriot Games and Ronin. This would have been a lot more interesting if the author had managed to snag an interview with Sean Bean himself. Although a couple of people from Bean's childhood were interviewed, most of this book seems to have come off internet interviews, etc. Read full review
