Secrets of Acting Shakespeare: The Original ApproachSecrets of Acting Shakespeare isn't a book that gently instructs. It's a passionate, yes-you-can designed to prove that anybody can act Shakespeare. By explaining how Elizabethan actors had only their own lines and not entire playscripts, Patrick Tucker shows how much these plays work by ear. Secrets of Acting Shakespeare is a book for actors trained and amateur, as well as for anyone curious about how the Elizabethan theater worked. |

I can tell you that actually working this way is the most fun you'll ever have on a stage-- and it makes for fresh, accurate, spontaneous performances that often are very funny (sometimes unintentionally). I trained with Patrick, and what I learned has stuck with me for more than 20 years. He's brilliant. I love doing Shakespeare the way it was written-- and the audiences love seeing it the way it was meant to be performed. -- Kris Dean, NYC
