About the author (2006)

John Patrick was a prolific, prize winning author of fiction and non fiction. One of his short stories, “The Well,” was honored by PEN American Center as one of the best of 1987. That story is reprinted in this anthology. His stories and novels, and the anthologies he edited, as well as his non fiction works, including Legends, Taboo, Barely Legal, and The Best of the Superstars series, continue to gain him new fans every day. One of his most famous short stories appears in the Badboy collection Southern Comfort and another appears in the collection The Mammoth Book of Gay Short Stories.John Butler retired after a thirty-six-year career in music teaching and administration, ranging from elementary and secondary school music to Dean of Liberal Arts at a major American university, where he also served as Professor and Department Head for twenty-seven years. He published his first erotic fiction in 1998: the STARbooks novel model/escort. Since then he has also published two other novels: WanderLUST: Ships that Pass in the Night and Boys Hard at Work (And Playing with Fire). In addition to the novel and short story contained in the present volume, his shorter fiction appears in the anthologies Taboo!, Fever!, Virgins No More, Any Boy Can, and Wild 'n' Willing.
