2 psl. - One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord ; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it.
1 psl. - Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
5 psl. - Creed, and that which is commonly called the Apostles' Creed, ought thoroughly to be received and believed: for they may be proved by most certain warrants of holy Scripture.
1 psl. - For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity : to acknowledge every Person by himself to be God and Lord; So are we forbidden by the Catholic Religion : to say, There be three Gods, or three Lords.
6 psl. - This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
1 psl. - There were ninety and nine that safely lay In the shelter of the fold. But one was out on the hills away, Far off from the gates of gold Away on the mountains wild and bare, Away from the tender Shepherd's care. " Lord, Thou hast here Thy ninety and nine ; Are they not enough for Thee ? " But the Shepherd made answer "This of mine Has wandered away from Me ; And although the road be rough and steep, I go to the desert to find My sheep.
5 psl. - For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts ; even one thing befalleth them : as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath ; so that a man hath no pre-eminence above a beast : for all is vanity. All go unto one place ; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
7 psl. - ... this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord : which say to the seers, " See not ; " and to the prophets, " Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits...
