A largely ignored but very important and seminal book on the topic of prolonged 'datelessness,' or 'involuntary celibacy.' The term 'love-shyness' is used to describe people who, despite their wishes, have an extremely hard time stating and maintaining romantic relationships. Dr. Gilmartin, the author researchers in great detail the phenomenon, providing much needed insight and assistance for psychiatrists, doctors, and laypersons.
