Silversmithing by Finegold & Seitz is a seriously fine book that will teach you everything that need to know to start working metals and making jewelry. This book covers the basics and then gets into thousand year techniques quick enough to keep a novice interested and on task. Get your hammers and files ready this 1983 book seems to be the Authority on Silversmithing and metal working. When you are ready to learn how to work silver, gold and copper this book is the first and best purchase that a crafter can make. This book describes soldering techniques, annealing processes, pickling solutions and hundreds of other much needed lessons that will greatly and vastly improve your skill set. Rupert Finegold and William Seitz should get an Oscar nomination for this book. 5 out of 5 stars for this book in its entirety.
