If you are interested in Georgia history in the early 19th century you will find this book fascinating. I was surprised at how frank it was considering when it was written and the prominence of the author, a significant political figure (U.S. Representative and Georgia Governor). I was right about it being unusual because I ran across a contemporary review of it in a newspaper. It provides many insights into life and politics of the period. If you had family in Georgia back then, you may run across some of them.
