This is a great book on an ancient practitioner of Aurveda who is thought to be the originator of modern day Plastic surgery. Painstakingly every evidence of Susruta's medical practice has been documented. Definitely surgery is the crown piece of this book. It is amazing to know that Susruta practised Rhinoplasty, otoplasty, skin grafting etc in the time of 3rd-4th century AD. Though Nagarjuna's redaction of Susruta Samhita is written in 3rd-4th century AD, it is believed that Susruta lived even before that and his original version of Susruta Samhita is beyond recovery.
