Vere Croghan has taught Swedish at Aberdeen University, Scotland, and the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. She has also worked as a translator and interpreter.

Professor Ivo Holmqvist has taught Scandinavian literature at the universities of Lund (Sweden), Odense (Denmark), Ghent (Belgium) and Auckland (New Zealand.
