About the author (1990)

Edmund Ryden teaches at Fujen University in Taiwan. He was the first director of the John Paul II Peace Institute at Fujen University and also teaches human rights at Soochow University.

Victor H. Mair is Professor of Chinese Language and Literature at the University of Pennsylvania and the author of many books including The True History of Tea and The Tarim Mummies.
