Clive S. Michelsen, Sweden's reigning wine pundit, provides “a thought provoking new addition to the arena of wine-tasting study” with his book Tasting and Grading Wine, which gives readers “original and rigorous” instruction in practical tasting grounded in the effective use of the 100-point system. This book covers the fundamentals of wine analysis, from the essential aspects of viticulture, winemaking and styles of wine, to defects and flaws, sensory analysis, and grape varietal characteristics. Michelsen also takes a revealing look at marketing principles, the relationship between price and quality (grade), and individual features of the world's wine markets.“Clive Michelsen's book is a thought-provoking addition to the arena of wine-tasting study. His experienced and individualistic approach to tasting and grading is both original and rigorous.” ---Clive Barlow MW, Tutor, Institute of Masters of Wine."This book deserves to win the Nobel Prize for tasting and grading wine..." --Stephen Spurrier, Decanter Magazine
