About the author (2012)

My inspiration for writing Tears in the Rain was as a follow-on to the previous book I have written called Tears in the Sand. I also have a degree in English literature and history, so I have combined my knowledge of both subjects to write these books.

I have worked in special education for thirteen years and noticed that there was not much available on this subject for nine- to twelve-year-olds and decided to have a go at writing.
I also battled with a brain tumor last year, but also managed to get the first book published and carry out research for the second, by visiting Poland on my own.

I live in on the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands, which is part of the British Isles. I have two sons James and Alex.
