The American Lineage of the Baggett Family
History of the Bagot (and variant spellings) families who originated in Flanders, Normandy, and Scandinavia, and later settled in Ireland and England. Some focus is on (but not limited to) the ancestors and descendants of John Bagot, who was born ca. 1613. He and his wife, Martha left England for Jamestown Colony, and settled in Surrey County Virginia. In 1720, their eldest son, Nicholas Baggett Sr., lived in Isle of Wight, Virginia. Other of John Bagot's descendants also went to Argentina, Australia, France, Ireland, Jersey Island, Spain, Sweden, Norway, and the United States. Later families also lived in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, New York, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and elsewhere in the United States.
