Joan Chittister is a Benedictine sister and founding executive director of Benetvision, a resource and research center for contemporary spirituality in Erie, Pennsylvania. An internationally known writer and lecturer, she serves as co-chair of the UN's Global Peace Initiative of Women and writes the column "From Where I Stand" in the"National Catholic Reporter".
