About the author (2011)

Dr Warren Boutcher is Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at Queen Mary, University of London and is an expert in the Late Renaissance, the period during which Shakespeare wrote his famous plays. His current projects include The School of Montaigne (Oxford University Press, forthcoming). He is head of the first year undergraduate Shakespeare course at Queen Mary, which includes collaborations with Shakespeare's Globe on Bankside, London. He has made extensive contributions to books and journals.
