Daniel Robins was born in Scotland to the Robertsons, known in Gaelic as Clan Donnachaid (Children of Duncan), in 1627. The Robertsons are descendants of King Duncan I through his son, Robert. In 1651, Daniel Robins and a number of other Scots were taken prisoner and shipped to America. Daniel was taken to Connecticut where he was a servant. In 1663 Daniel married Hope Potter and they had seven sons. Daniel died in 1714 and was buried in new Jersey. Descendants live throughout the United States.
