Gwen loved moments like this -- sitting on a blanket by the ocean, watching the waves crash onto the shore. But her quiet moment was disrupted by the playful shouts of a group of teenagers. About the author (1986)

Editor and author Ann Reit worked at Scholastic from 1971 until 1999. She worked on such paperback series lines as Sunfire Romances, Girls of Canby Hall and The Guardians of Ga'Hoole. She also wrote novels for Scholastic and worked as a freelance editor after her retirement. She died on August 7, 2008.
