There is a great deal of contrast within the pieces using dramatic changes of texture and character. In balancing the significance as well as the level of difficulty between the flute, cello, and piano, Liebermann composes beautiful, lyrical melodies and rhythmic accompaniments for each. It is clear from these Trios that Liebermann is a true proponent and innovator of contemporary chamber music. |
