About the author (2009)

Dr. I.V. Hilliard founded New Light Church World Outreach and Worship Centers, Inc. in 1984 with only 23 members. Today, New Light Christian Center Church, "One Church in Multiple Locations," has over 20,000 members. His television program Changing Lives Through Faith can be seen nationwide on Bet, Geb, and The Word Network as well as local stations throughout Texas. New Light Christian Center Church has two Houston locations and has established extension locations in Austin and Beaumont, Texas. New Light Christian Center Church employs over 260 people in various divisions including: a nationwide television ministry, a drug rehabilitation center, its own satellite network, an aviation division, daycare, and elementary school. Dr. Hilliard received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, a Master of Divinity, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters and Doctor of Philosophy from Friends International Christian University. Dr. Hilliard and his wife, Bridget, have three children and four grandchildren. They reside in the Houston, Texas metro area.
