About the author (2010)

Doria J. Murphy has wanted to be a writer for as long as she can remember. She began writing her first stories as a child and never stopped. Though the genres, topics, and characters changed as she changed, her love of writing stories for children never ceased. With the birth of her two sons came inspiration, but also a great deal of responsibility, growth, and very little time to sleep, let alone write. Now that her children are leaving babyhood behind and moving into childhood, they provide Doria with plenty of entertainment. Occasionally, she tries to sneak away to put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard. Her first story was completely inspired by the amazing experience her family underwent with the birth of her second son. She knew that her youngest, Liam, would make her family complete and Doria and her husband believed firmly that their oldest son should be there to share it. When not chasing after her two little boys, Doria is a work-from-home mom who splits her time between contract copywriting and designing and building custom eco-friendly children's play furniture alongside her husband for his company, Little Murphys. When the day is over and everyone is safely tucked in bed, Doria often takes advantage of the quiet and settles in to work on her children's stories.
