About the author (2004)

Edward Victor was born in the Bronx, New York on September 9, 1939. He received a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and won a Marshall Scholarship to Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he received a master's degree in literature. He worked as an editor at publishing houses in London and New York before opening the Ed Victor Literary Agency in 1976. His book, The Obvious Diet: Your Personal Way to Lose Weight Fast - Without Changing Your Lifestyle, was published in 2001. He was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his services to publishing in 2016. He died from complications of chronic lymphocytic leukemia on June 7, 2017 at the age of 77.
