About the author (2013)

 Roy Owenby was born in Nantahala, North Carolina. A Navy veteran, Owenby graduated from Appalachian State University at age 40. After 40 years in various supervisory and management positions, he currently works part-time for the North Carolina Department of Commerce. Owenby has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Israel, and Europe. A prolific writer, he is a feature writer for the Burningtown News, an online Franklin Paper.
