"Five," of course, is the correct answer for a math test. Unfortunately there's some very sloppy editing in this book. On page 43 there's a quote that is not only paraphrased, but attributed to the wong author. (It's Henry Melvill, not Herman Mellville as the book states.) This type of easily checked error doesn't bode well for the veracity of the rest of the facts in the book.
