In my 33 years as an educator, I never saw a position posted that did not contain the words, "needs excellent interpersonal skills." Carkhuff's book in THE text for training parents, teachers and administrators how to talk to and not at students. Based upon years of research, this book includes the best skills from the traditional modes of therapy and adds to them the unique insights developed by Carkhuff and his team. It should be required reading for all educators.
