This book belongs in the library of all spiritual book collectors. The life this obscure yogini endured as a child and in her tiny Kerala ashram sets a benchmark for tapas, although, of course, she undoubtedly did not view her life as compared to some ideal. The diorama of her rishi teachers sculpted by her as a first effort in concrete is remarkable. The author has devotedly accumulated a biography worth studying for its unusual qualities amidst a traditional atmosphere of meditation.
