One of the most inciteful books on American government. Most relevant for our time is is chapter on how our political language has changed since the time of the writing of the constitution. The founders would not even understand much of our language of government, just as we may not understand theirs. His data suggests that the idea of originalism in making Supreme Court decisions is a fools errand. The language has changed, so there is no real way to determine what was meant at the time the Constitution was written.
