One of the most widely respected theological dictionaries put into one-volume, abridged form. Focusing on the theological meaning of each word, the abridgment contains English keywords for each entry, tables of English and Greek keywords, and a listing of the relevant volume and page numbers from the unabridged work at the end of each article or section.

I will give this a great review for content. However it is a bit awkward to use, kind of jumpy in thought to me. However, it is standard among theologians & some I have found some great nuggets of truth in it. Some of the best tools come from German theologians. I give it a 4 out of 5. Read full review

About the author (1985)

Gerhard Kittel (1888-1948) was the Former Professor of New Testament both at Greifswald and Tbingen. He undertook the editorial direction of Theologisches Wrterbuch zum Neuen Testament in 1928.

The editor of the Theologisches Wrterbuch zum Neuen Testament, he has been Professor of New Testament at the University of Erlangen since 1954.

Geoffrey W. Bromiley (1915 2009) was professor emeritus of Church History and Historical Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. He was best known as the translator of numerous theological books, including the 9-volume Theological Dictionary of the New Testament.
