In the book, there is reference of a Sarah Timmons marrying a Branson ( his name was Liner Willis Branson) and in the 1840 Hopkins Co Ky census was the following family:
2 male 15-19, 1 male 20-29, 1 male, 40-49-Females: 1 female 10-14, 1 female 40-49.
Comparing to another family ( Corbett, Corbit, Corbett)
Samuel W. Corbitt married a Sarah Timmons born about 1804, in the 1840 census, same county, cannot be married to two families??
1 male under 5, 1 male 5-9, 2 males 15-19 1 male 40-49,Female: 1 under 5, 1-10-14, 1 30-39.
You mention in the book that the Sarah Timmons who was married to Branson remarried to my3rd Great Grandfather Samuel W. Timmons.
Compare the census above.
Sarah Timmons Branson died in Hopkins Co Ky about 1855. Sarah Timmons Corbitt died Hopkins Co Ky in 1854.
I do not know which family is the family of my gggrandmother Sarah Corbitt.
The Sarah Timmons married to Branson was mentioned in the will of George Timmons, her father. His will dated about 1834. He died1845.
In the 1850 Hopkins Co census, is a Sarah Branson age 38, I think that should have been about 58, and in the home was her son, Wythe B. Branson with his wife and children.
In the 1850 Hopkins Co census is my Sarah Corbitt, age 46 ( yeah) born 1804.. with her children as Samuel W.Corbitt died in 1849. Her children,Elijah Corbett, age 17, George W. Corbett born 1836, Sarah Corbett age 11, and James Corbett age 7.
I cannot seem to fight this.No body looks at the ages nor the other families, I sure would liketo see the source that was inserted in this book.
You show this to be Biography and Autobiography, could you please let me know where your relation is to the families in the book.
One more thing, Wythe Branson was born about 1823 to Sarah TimmonsBranson and Liner Willis Branson. Sarah Timmons born about 1804 married Samuel W. Corbett in Davies County Ky in 1820. Sarah Timmons and Samuel Corbett has their first child willis Corbett in 1824, Andrew J. in 1827 and then Minerva in 1830. The others are listed above in the 1850 Census for this family.
Can you just see my frustration?
