April 2, 2009, Carol Brocklehurst passed away after a long, crippling siege with gout, rheumatoid arthritis and emphysema. Sixty years of happy marriage in these times of increasing divorce rates prompted George Brocklehurst to write this story of his and Carols steadily growing love for each other. About the author (2010)

George Brocklehurst is a retired educator.He is a United States Army Air Force veteran of World War II with service of 35 sorties as a ball turret gunner in a B-24 Liberator bomber. Carol and George were married August 14, 1948 two months after George graduated from Wayne University. Hispublic school services included 27 years asan elementary school principal. His last 15years of educational service was as a college teacher of mathematics subjects and mathematics coordinator.
