About the author (2006)

Before Rob Childs wrote his first book, he taught children for 20 years. One of his favorite experiences as a teacher was being able to coach soccer and gymnastics. Childs eventually wrote more than 80 books for children, including a popular series of sports books. He also wrote a series called Time Rangers for Scholastic. Childs lives with his wife, Joy, and their collie dog, Rockey. Rockey likes to take Childs for walks in the nearby countryside.

One of Nicola Slater's favorite pastimes is to make monkeys out of socks. She became an illustrator so that she could spend her days lounging around her house drawing silly pictures. She lives in England and claims that she can levitate household objects with her mind.
