Suzanah Denard was in a loveless marriage to an abusive man. Now, all that is behind her. She has fled Michigan for Springfield, Mass., and a new life. She takes a job with a catering company and begins to get back on her feet when she meets attorney Alexander O'Neal. She is instantly smitten, but both of them are gun shy when it comes to love.
