Since the United States and Vietnam normalized diplomatic and trade relations in 1995, Vietnam has become a popular destination for Americans, who enjoy its vibrant cities, spectacular coastline, and diverse ethnic cultures. This dictionary and phrasebook is an essential aid to all who wish to communicate in Vietnamese at home and abroad. A pronunciation guide presents the Vietnamese tones; a basic grammar teaches sentence structure; and the phrasebook offers insight into Vietnamese etiquette, cuisine, and cultural practices. Special sections for traveling with children are among the phrasebook's unique features.
