The book by Mr S Mahalinga Aiyeris ,as he says a combined outcome of his studies of law ,banking and vedanta. The author based
on his practical experience gives an intelligible account of the functioning of the financial institutions besides explaining
in simple language some technical subjects like credit creations and credit accumulation .His attempt is therefore to show
that human welfare and happiness can not really be achieved unless they are leavered by a measure of respect for religion.
Dated 29 Oct,1966
Mr Mahalinga Aiyer Asserts,is taught to seek wealth without reference to mind or morality."Religion",he writes ,is that which

Another book in Tamil language with the title "PORULIYAL (Economics) PANAVIYAL (Finance) ARASIYAL (Politics) ARAVIYAL (Ethics)", by the same author, was published in 1971, containing 328 pages with 28 Chapters and five appendices. As the author passed away in March 1972, the book in Tamil did not receive any publicity, through reviews in newspapers, etc. Copies of the Tamil book will be sent on request to persons interested in the subjects & topics dealt with in the book for the purpose of giving reviews in this website or through print media.
Both the books (English and Tamil) written four decades back, contain prophetic forebodings of the financial crisis witnessed now in global economies.
For parallel views, refer to "The Rise and fall of Neo-liberalism The Collapse of an Economic Order ? ", edited by KEAN BIRCH and VLAD MYKHNENKO available through "Books for Change", No.139, Richmond Road, Bangalore - 560025, India. A review of this book by "Arvind Sivaramakrishnan" appeared in "THE HINDU" (India's National News Paper) dated 11th January 2011.
