The year was 1975. After graduating from a small college on the eastern seaboard of Maryland, Linda was presented with some unusual opportunities. The most interesting one, which persistently beckoned to her, involved spending the summer in Europe serving with an organization called "Youth With a Mission". However, a big obstacle stood between her and the launching of this adventure: NO MONEY; not for a plane ticket, summer lodging, ground travel, or any other expenses! Despite the challenges, a growing inner confidence spoke reassuringly to keep moving forward. The ensuing journey took her through a maze of emotions and experiences that paved the way for more than just a great adventure. While facing each barrier the mind of this young woman was changing as God began to imprint upon her fearful heart a new paradigm. God can really become our Provider, Protector and Life-Changer. Despite the fact that more than four million young people have served in YWAM short term, in every nation on earth, and that there are hundreds of thousands who have gone through our initial course of Discipleship Training School (DTS) and even served on staff long-term; I never get tired of hearing individual stories of faith: how people heard God, obeyed God, and then saw God answer. This is Linda Hampson's story of obedience to the voice of the Lord in her life, that is written to inspire your faith in what God wants to do -- through YOU!" Loren Cunningham Founder of Youth With A Mission International President of University of the Nations Linda and her husband, Michael, make their home in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.
