G.K. Hall, 1999 - Fiction - 256 pages
Sol, a retired farmer, gives up on life and sinks into despair after the death of his wife. He talks with his friend Jesus, but at first refuses help from his wife's minister. Sol had never been close with his children. Now he finds himself at odds with his son Vic, who returns to manage his father's life. Sol pretends to be slipping into senility to get even with Vic. City folks living on Sol's former land disturb him. Vic's father-in-law appears and stirs up conflict in the family. Not until he finally turns his back on games of deceit does Sol find the storms of turmoil in his life turning into winds of promise.
