Ken Osbourne, PhD, was educated at the Universities of Oxford, Birmingham, and Manitoba, and is professor emeritus of education at the University of Manitoba. He taught high school history in Winnipeg and taught at the Faculty of Education, University of Manitoba until his retirement. He has written extensively on the teaching of history and related matters. While at the University of Manitoba he won university awards for excellence in teaching, interdisciplinary scholarship, and community service. He is also the recipient of a Prix Manitoba award from the government of Manitoba for contributions to heritage education. He also received a Distinguished Educator award from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education from the University of Toronto.
