Book and parallel exhibition is the first retrospective of the paintings by mid-career, Yishai Jusidman (b. Mexico, 1963). His work draws on seventeenth-century portraiture and modern monochrome; a naturalistic still lifes and action painting, a Renaissance technique of tempera and digital electrostatic printing. His artistic production combines visual richness with conceptual rigor and historical breadth. The exhibition includes selections from each of the shows produced since 1987 and will include about 70 pieces in a wide range of formats and scales, from collections in Mexico, Latin America, USA and Europe.Edición elaborada en paralelo a la muestra homónima de Yishai Jusidman (b. Mexico, 1963). Dicha publicación se coloca como la más completa y destacada acerca del trabajo de este singular artista mexicano. Su obra recurre al retratismo del siglo XVII y a la monocroma moderna; a los bodegones naturalistas y al action painting; a la tcnica renacentista del temple y a la impresión digital electrosttica; al deleite Óptico y al objeto especfico. La producción artística conjuga riqueza visual con rigor conceptual y amplitud histórica. La exposición abarcar selecciones de cada una de las series producidas desde 1987 e incluir alrededor de 70 piezas, en un amplio rango de formatos y escalas, provenientes de colecciones de México, Latinoamérica, Estados Unidos y Europa.

Barry Schwabsky is an American art critic and poet living in London. He is the author of "The Widening Circle: Consequences of Modernism in Contemporary Art" and "Opera: Poems 1981-2002", as well as contributions to "Vitamin P: New Perspectives in Painting" and to monographs and exhibition catalogues on such artists as Alighiero e Boetti, Jessica Stockholder, and Gillian Wearing. Schwabsky also co-edits the international reviews section of "Artforum" and has taught at New York University, Yale University, and Goldsmiths College.
