You Can Still Rise is a collection of poems that the Lord gave me to minister to my own soul as I struggled with the ever present lure and temptation of drug abuse. Being a former drug addict there are times when the enemy continues to harrass me in my mind and circumstances. God knows those areas where I struggle and where I need encouragement. I began to share some of my writing with friends who were in turn encouraged. It was suggested that I put these writings in a book. So, here it is.

If you or someone close to you struggles with the sin of drug addiction, I'm sure these poems will speak to your soul and touch your heart. These poems will encourage you and reveal the heart of God who is our source of hope. No matter where you are, what you've done or how many times you fall... God loves you and in that love is the hope, the mercy, the grace that makes it possible for you to rise again.

About the author (2008)

A native of Philadelphia, Mylow Young has struggled with drug addiction for more than half of his fifty-one years. Homeless, hopeless and trapped in a mindset of rejection and worthlessness, freedom from addiction was impossible. After several stays at Bethel Colony of Mercy (a faith based drug and alcohol facility) and even serving in that same ministry, consistency in his life was not to be found.       But several years ago, after totally surrendering his life to Jesus Christ and discovering his identity in Christ, he has found newness of life - a new wife, a new job, a new home and yes... freedom and victory over the ever present lure of crack cocaine. Mylow now lives in Statesville, N.C. with his bride Sondra, and has recently celebrated his fifth wedding anniversary.   Synopsis...       You Can Still Rise Again: A Collection of Poems for the Struggle - is just that - a collection of poetry to help encourage you through the circumstances and the struggles of life. Some of us struggle with things that it seems no one understands or even cares about. This book was written to let you know that someone does understand and someone really does care.         I wrote these poems as the Lord was dealing with me in different areas of my life. The lessons, corrections and encouragement of a loving Father helped me to see my worth and bring me out of a life of hopelessness and despair. So, after being set free, it is now my mission and joy to share with you that way to freedom. That there is hope for you. That no matter what you've been through, or what you're going through, because of Christ, you too... can still rise... again.
