You're Toast and Other Metaphors We Adore
Here's a BRIGHT IDEA -- read this book! It's a PIECE OF CAKE! Even if you're sharp as a tack, metaphors can be confusing. But this colorful, silly picture book by Nancy Loewen is sure to engage and educate young readers, while teaching them about various figures of speech. A must read!

I would use this story when learning about metaphors and what they mean. This will be a interesting read to the students because they will be able to point out new metaphors and how they're used. Read full review
I can't believe this book is published! It is awful. I bought this book to teach a lesson on metaphores to my 4th grade class, and I discover the book is completely worthless. It is a book about idioms! Idioms and metaphores are not the same and shame on the authors for presenting them as synonomous. I am horrified nobody caught this mistake before publication and shame on the author for not knowing parts of speech! Terrible. Do not buy this book!
