Whiskey Flight by Violet Howe.
Contemporary romantic suspense. 1st in the series but connected to all the other series by the author which take place in Cedar Creek. In particular, if continuity is important to you, read the Cedar Creek mystery series beginning with The Ghost in the Curve and the two following before this book. It can stand alone as romantic suspense.
Danielle moved back to Cedar Creek to live in a family home when all her assets were frozen because of her ex-husband and his organized crime connections. Dani has reestablished connections in Cedar Creek and is home to stay. Maybe it’s time she forgives Seth, her onetime BFF, for not following her to Chicago.
Threats and fear burst in the door with a phone call from her ex. Someone is watching her and she needs to leave town immediately or everyone she cares about will be at risk.
Gripping storyline. Strong and supportive hero. The heroine...doing what she feels she has to in protecting her family. A little less screaming maybe but who knows how I’d react in a similar shoot out?
4.5. A little predictable but a riveting read.
