Have you ever wondered whether house cats are descended from big cats? How bobcats and lynxes are related? If cheetahs and mountain lions are big cats? What are all these little cats running around in the wild?

Buy this book today and find answers to these and other questions about family Felidae that perhaps you never even knew you had!

This volume presents an easy-to-understand overview of 17 different cats, including house cats. That's almost half of the cat family!

There also are plenty of images, thanks to many skilled photographers around the world who have shared their work online through Creative Commons.

This book also contains URLs to interesting videos and conservation sites (the Cat Specialist Group and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature -- IUCN - the red-list agency).

About the author (2020)

After retiring from a 25-year career in medical transcription, I decided to put my old forestry degree and undergrad geology studies to use by writing a book on cat evolution

That wasn't as easy as it sounded, but it has started a new career for me: writing and science blogging, with an emphasis presently on geoscience and paleontology.

I blog at FlightToWonder.com now and am in the process of self-publishing a series of eBooks on the modern cat family
