Dear Book Friends,
It is always nice to see one of my 8 different books
still for sale somewhere. We published in:
1989 (Autographs Reporduction Book)
And yes, the Internet put most celebrity address book publishers'out
of business. It was too much work - we always made a profit - except
in 1998 - broke even. That was it.
Don't let collectioning autographs die out. There are 1,000 of celebrities - that still answer their mail and will sign anything.
One word of warning - don't mail anything you are not prepared to NOT
get back.
What I am doing now is taking a Tv show or Movie and trying to get
everyone in the movie (not just the main characters - but the character
actors who were consider "day players" (were on set literally for one
If you are collecting autographs just to make money - it isn't much fun.
I'll tell you - it is the "non-household names" - that are actually
worth the most. Take the TV Show "The Fugitive" (1963-1967). Yes,
everyone got the main 3-4 people ..... but who borther to get the
autograph of the one-arm man, Fred Raisch ? Also, in the movie
Rocky (1976) ..... yes, we have all the BIG names but who bothered to
get the fight promoter (names skips me at the moment) or Billy Sands,
who took Rocky Balboa's bag and put it on a hook in the locker room.
Yes, I have Billy Sands autograph because I am older than 99% of you,
and he was on the Phil Silvers Show in yes, the 50's (we had TV then).
OK, nice chatting with you and if you have any questions ... my email address is: ... All I ask is please no long lists of names and addresses - I could help with a few ... fair enough ?
God Bless,
Roger Christensen
