About the author (2006)

Tyler Perry is an American actor, comedian, filmmaker, writer, and songwriter. Specializing in the gospel genre, Perry wrote many stage plays which have been successfully adapted for film and television. He is best known for his character Madea, who he himself portrays in a variety of stories, and in 2017 his net worth is estimated to be $600 million. He has also signed a multiyear contract with Oprah Winfrey for her channel OWN, providing some of its highest rated programming to date.
