About the author (1988)

Joshua Joseph Greenfeld was born in Malden, Massachusetts on February 27, 1928. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in English from Columbia University. He wrote three books about his autistic son entitled A Child Called Noah, A Place for Noah, and A Client Called Noah. His novels included The Return of Mr. Hollywood and What Happened Was This. In 1974, he shared an Oscar nomination with Paul Mazursky for the screenplay of Harry and Tonto. Greenfeld was also a playwright. His play I Have a Dream ran for 88 performances on Broadway in 1976. He died from pneumonia on May 11, 2018 at the age of 90.
