Lisbon is hot, from her head to her toes. Luckily she has her animal friends to help her find ways to cool off. When their solutions don’t exactly work out for her, Lisbon has to discover her own way to stay cool. We invite you to join Lisbon on her funny misadventures.

Each beautiful illustration is designed to inspire the imaginations of children. An activity page at the end of the book allows for more fun as they search for special items in the illustrations.

This version of II Don't Want to Have Hot Toes has been designed specifically for ebook with a fixed layout and larger text for easy reading. While this is a great read-aloud book for parents, teachers, and other adults to share with children, we have chosen fonts that are similar to the way children form letters for easy recognition as they begin to read on their own. The print book is also available in 8.5” x 11” format.

Author’s Note:  I Don't Want to Have Hot Toes is the second book in the Lisbon’s Misadventures series. The first book, I Don't Want to Eat Bugs is also available in print and ebook. I’ve written two additional books in the series, and Tim Petersen is hard at work creating the illustrations. Tim is obviously a fabulous artist, and I’m excited to be working with him. You can sign up on my website to learn when the next book comes out (http://teylarachelbranton.com/). Thank you and enjoy!

About the author (2016)

About the Author: Rachel Branton grew up on a little farm where she loved to visit the solitary cow and collect (and juggle) the eggs, usually making it back to the house with most of them intact. On that same farm she once owned thirty-three gerbils and eighteen cats. She is now married, mostly grown up, and has seven kids, so life at her house can be very interesting and loud. She sometimes wears pajamas all day when working on a deadline, and is often distracted enough to burn dinner. She writes children’s books and romance under the name Rachel Branton and science fiction and fantasy under Teyla Branton. About the Artist: Tim Petersen is a restaurant manager by day and an artist by night. He loves dogs, watersports, and kids. He’s the oldest in a very large family that includes two sets of twins. I Don't Want to Eat Bugs is his first picture book, and he had a lot of fun basing his illustrations of Rocky on his favorite real-life dog.
