About the author (1993)

Charles Tripp is Professor of Politics, with reference to the Middle East, at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. His many publications include A History of Iraq (2007, 2002 and 2000) and Islam and the Moral Economy: The Challenge of Capitalism (2006).
