I bought the pb new at the fine old basement bookshop at The University of Hartford (now moved, cleaned up, slick....) on 11-11-1974 and have been reading it with pleasure off and on for 37-8 years. If it is not a fabrication and if truly l565 C.E.....It is a remarkable view of English life in the l6th cent plus a treasury of words for an amatuer philologist like myself, for example words we use every day:
DUDS BOOZE FOIST (used as a noun) TO LIFT (steal) FILCH etc.....many more.
It is a delight.
You might find an ancestor among the true names listed as rascals.
None of mine as my ancestors had been thrown out of England by that time. [Expelled].
