"Hershey's Kisses Multiplication and Division" is a non-fiction book for second grade written by Jerry Pallotta and illustrated by Rob Bolster in 2003. The cover of the book looks different from the one above but this 2003 publication by the same author also teaches children to multiply and then divide. The way this fun book introduces children to multiplication is by mixing sports such as soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey, football, and volleyball when teaching. Multiplication is introduced by first telling children that the multiplication symbol is an x. Then a multiplication problem is introduced on half of the book. For children to better understand Hershey chocolates kisses are separated into groups to depict the multiplication problem. Children are also introduced to multiplication vocabulary such as factors and product. The other half of the book introduces children to division. Division vocabulary is introduced as the names of dividend, divisor and quotient. In all, this book introduces these essential life skills in a fun and memorable way.
