We hear it said over and over again: "September 11 changed America forever." Less often do we hear a coherent and informed explanation of what, exactly, changed. What changed, in fact, was that for the first time in American history we have been forced to confront Islamic militancy as it has assaulted the world for almost 14 centuries.

In "The Sword of the Prophet," the reader receives the unvarnished truth about the rise of Islam and the patterns set by its founder, Muhammad; the historical meaning of jihad against the (non-Muslim) "infidel" that we see today in the al-Qaeda terror network; the broad sweep of the global military, political, moral, and -- yes -- spiritual struggle that faces us; and what we must do if we wish to survive. Above all, we must avoid the twin perils of complacency and despair, and for that a sober, factual, and contextual presentation like that found in Trifkovic's work is essential. But every American owes it to himself or herself to know the real score of the post-9/11world -- and this slim but invaluable volume is the place to start.

I love history. Iam well read in from 280BC to Korean War. European and American history. I went to a bible institute when is was 32. They took me thru that book 4 times. I sailed 2/3 around this great planet for 8 years. Traded books with other crusiers. Most sailors where reading history. They are the one's that got me hooked. So no now Iam 57 and have had the privaledge to live in America during an age I can review hundreds of years of written history. I can not be more humbled and feel more blessed. Iam truly sad to read that the 2nd largest religion, "Islam" is so destructive, oppressive and they want to kill and destroy western civilization. I can't believe what they did to India and the whole middle east. Mohummad, what he wrote in the Kuran. A man centered religion. This faith is not about love. No wonder they suffer and the tryanny. Thank God for our forefathers of this country, They must of knew about this. This is a must read for parents that care about their grandchildren. Read Romans 13:8. Love is the most powerful force on this planet. Iam trying to figure out how to love someone that wants to destroy me.This author dos'nt have a chip on his shoulder. He did great research and backs it up. The truth will set you free!!!
