Roxanne St. Claire's latest romance novel "Barefoot in the Rain" is typical St. Claire. Abused and abandoned as a child, Jocelyn Bloom becomes a life coach
to California stars. When trapped in a web of lies, she is forced to abandon her career and move back to the comfort and relative safety of her childhood home in a small island off Florida's southwest coast. The only problem is that Barefoot Bay is not totally safe for Jocelyn. Her old flame lives there and his presence is a nearly ongoing source of frustration and challenge for a confused and anxious Jocelyn. To make matters worse, she is faced with the dementia of her sheriff father who was the source of childhood abuse. Jocelyn is forced to face current events whether she likes it or not. Her decisions go a long way towards moving her to a reality she does not want to accept.
In true style, St. Clair presents real and loveable characters. Will is nothing short of being hot. Guy is a fellow most readers will want to protect and Charity is nothing short of an enigma. The friendships of the women are endearing and enduring. Steamy love scenes will tease the most avid romance reader while forcing the reader to occasionally shut the book and cool off! Although a bit predictable, this novel stands by itself in the series. It is one of those books to read with utter satisfaction on a warm afternoon at the beach.

Really good romance with lots of twists and turns. Liked that the heroine ended up with a younger man. Read full review
